They are set up with a combination of Datsun roadster and Datsun 210 parts and some custom pieces. They have the same 15 degree mechanical advance at the crankshaft that factory non-smog distributors came with. They must be used with coils made for 12 volt electronic systems that allow an increase in spark plug gap for better performance.
These distributors are disassembled and inspected for damage and wear. Damaged or worn parts are replaced or repaired. The parts to be used in the finished dizzy's are cleaned and lubricated and coated before reassembly. After assembly they are tested for electrical performance.
I have been building these distributors for several years and have known how to do them for more than 10 years. I heard about them from Bill Beaubier many years back when I was at his house. They have been on my site for quite some time and there was one posting on 311s in the Tech Discussions section on Oct 04, 2007 that said that I had them.
