Are all clutch arms created equal???

Not so fast. After having a my 5 speed rebuilt we some how misplaced the clutch fork arm. Oh no. So the search began. I was told there was no difference between the 4 and 5 speed clutch arms. Well, that ended up not being a true statement. Although with a few minor tweaks a 4 speed arm could be used in a 5 speed. The big difference is the notch on the 5 speed clutch arm to clear one of the bell housing bolts. This throws the full movement of the arm off. This can easily be remedied as long as you know where the notch is suppose to be. Also, the end where the clutch slave cylinder spring connects is angled on the 5 speed fork. I do not see this as an issue at all. Ross provided me with the pictures so you can see the differences.

I tied using a Z car clutch fork. The overall length is a bit short where the fork sticks out of the bell housing and the slave cylinder spring would attach. Otherwise minus the notch this could be a viable alternative should it come to that. You would need to extend the length by welding metal to the end. You also have to drill out for the slave cylinder push rod as well as the hole for the slave cylinder spring. If you do not add the piece to extend the length the spring will rub against the rubber boot on the slave cylinder. Do not forget to add the notch.
