1967 Half Year 1600
The 67 half year 1600's share quite a few similarities to the 67 2000 cars. Again, many folks consider the 2000's half year cars when in fact they are not. 1967.5 1600 Vehicle Identification Number's began at SPL311-11001 and ended at 17000. Engine numbers began at R-40001 and were manufactured through September 1967. There were roughly five thousand plus right hand drive 67.5 cars produced. Not sure how many left hand drive cars were produced. Those records are not available to my knowledge.
1/2 year cars came out in March 67 and are low windshield cars with dual brake master, sun visors, torque rod, and a new dash instrument layout.. Labeled as 1/2 cars because they are different from the earlier 67 with single brake master. These 1/2 cars were made until 09/67 and many were sold as 68 models because anything produced after 06/67 was in effect sold as a 68. Both 1600 and 2000 produced had identical bodies and with only minor differences such as grill, instruments (speedo and tach only), and 2000 had license plate trim. Calling the 1/2 cars is a way of differentiating them from the earlier 67 1600.
