Finding non-datsun parts
I'm looking for a list of non-datsun parts that will fit in a 1968 or 1970 1600. Anyone know of a list or any parts? (specifically engine, brake, suspention, etc). Is there a list on this website I may have missed? Thanks.

A Hollander Interchange manual has been invaluable to me while I have owned and restored some early American cars. I believe they have an import edition that covers models from 1965 through 1970.
They have a website you can find easily with any search engine, and they are generally available used or new on ebaymotors.com from various sellers.
I would check to make sure the Datsuns are listed.

Sorry, I had a computer crash, and didn't realize I wasn't logged in.
Also, I just did a quick search on ebaymotors and found this:

Take this with a grain of salt. The Hollander manuals are fantastic! The issue is that they only give exact match interchanges. For example, the front spindle on a Dodge Lancer and an Omni are the same raw casting, but they are machined slightly differently. Since they are not an identical match, the Hollander manual does not say that they can interchange. The reality is that they can. (I am saying this from memory - a guy I used to work with thought that the Omni was the ultimate car and I heard his drivel about that car - I returned the favor by letting him hear my drivel about Roadsters!)
Anyway, since Roadsters have a lot of unique bits that are similar to other cars, but not exact, the Hollander does not really work. (240Z carbs and 2000 carbs can be made to interchange, but you have to WORK at it!)
