Who's got the hook-up on a header?

Post by Sloloco »

I figure someone out there took the time to find a reasonable priced header for the 1600. I was going to have my exhaust guy do it but he sold the business!

I need to re-do my whole system anyway so no big rush.

Most of the vendors carry a header. I've been talking to Stan about his. He offers 3 styles; painted with 1.5" tubes, painted with 1.625" tubes and coated with 1.625" tubes. I have been doing a little research on caoting types and it seems all are not created equal. The Jet Hot coating is mainly cosmetic and thin while others on the market such as Swaintech are thicker and have increased insulating properties. I need to call Stan to find out what caoting he uses. Stan told me unless I was running a real high performance motor the 1.5" header will suffice. Don't forget you need a 2L or gear reduction starter for most headers.

Good luck

1.5 sounds good to me. I think coated is a bit excessive for this application. I needed them on my race cars but this is just a weekend warrior. I just want the flow and strength of tubular mostly. What do they cost $150 give or take?

1.5" painted....$128 was the price he quoted me.

Lance,

Stan is an independent and has nothing to do with Ralleye or Fairlady Products. He does his own thing. Here is his email address
