I am working on the rebuild of the brake master cylinder of my 68 2000. All was going well until I attempted to replace the seals on the secondary piston. The piston has two opposing seals and a sprung assembly on one end. I have placed the first seal but without further dissassembly I can see no way to get the second seal in place. The sprung assembly is staked in place. By that I mean it appears to have been deformed as a part of the original assembly process.
Any thoughts?

I think I know what you are talking about...
You pressed in the brake's cylinder piston and it is stuck. A dry and unfluided cylinder wil do that.
I recommend to soak the whole thing in brake fluid and make sure that all and any air pockets inside are gone.
If it doesn't pop out on it's own in a few days... Keep the thing still submerged and try to replunge the plunger aggressively down the cylninder to coax some fluid inbetween the cylnder wall and rubber piston seal...
After that someone else might have another remedy.
