Toyota 4-piston brake swap?

Post by Minh »

Can someone cross reference this information regarding these Toyota brakes and see if they match up with the Roadster?

I don't have the reference material to confirm. If this is true, these Toyota brakes would be a lot easier to install than the Volvo brakes.

Thanks.

RE:Toyota Brake Calipers

Post by S Allen »

It is my understanding that the Toyota brake calipers are pretty much a direct bolt on for the Z car but would take some major reengineering to fit on a roadster. Anything can be made to fit with enough dollars. The Z car and roadster front calipers are not even a close fit. I looked at that option some time ago. The Volvo conversion is not that hard and once it is done parts are cheaper to replace and readily available. The part most people have been turned off by is the fact you need to turn the rotors down to clear the Volvo calipers. Several have actually ground the Volvo caliper to get the clearance. Not something I would do but that is my personal opinion.
