Check out the air cleaners on Ivan from NC '66 SPL 1600. His is the July car of the month. Anybody know where he got them or where I could pick some up?

The triangular one will work only if you convert to a Holley, Edelbrock, Autolite, Carter or Rochester type 4 barrel carb (or some 2 barrels too.) For sports car parts, look to sports car suppliers! Moss Motors has the ones you want.

Oval versions are part number 223-220 and are $36.55. Round are part number 223-230 and cost $34.65. There are other options available as well (some even have MG or some such nonsense embossed/cast into them.)

Hellings type aircleaners (round chrome "closed" type units) look neat and are a bit cheaper at $28.95 each.

The nice thing about the Weiand type are that you can plumb the vent tube to them as they have a knock out for a breather tube if I recall correctly.

Any time! You may also want to check some other British car and Volvo suppliers as you may be able to find better prices. Victoria British has cheaper prices on parts than Moss generally speaking. JC Whitney sometimes turns up a jewel.

On those aircleaners, you should plan to replace the foam regularly (annually is probably sufficent) as it degrades and then disintegrates - getting sucked into the engine. Ask Chris Brucciani in Atlanta about that...

Doesn't that stand for Mongo Gnads"? :D (the "G" is silent, just like the "P" in "swimming".)
