Choke cable rebuild, who has done this?

Who has done this, http://www.311s.org/pmwiki-311/pmwiki.p ... ChokeCable and are there any updates to the process? The cable on the rear carb isn't long enough to completely release the choke arm so my idle is too high and the wire is frayed quite a bit. Thought this might be an easy fix.

Its a piece of cake to do. I redid all my heater control cables too, using bicycle shifter cable housing and piano wire.

I did this as well and it was straight forward. I also had a cable that was frayed at the end. I twisted it back together as best as I could, put some soldering flux on it and with torch soldered the tip back together.

I did this too. Very easy. After putting in new cables, I used shrink wrap/tubing on the ends. Worked great.

There is a write up on the older ratcheting style choke as well, has anyone performed that and have any updates to that procedure?

I’ve done it. . Oh, wait, I wrote that. I’m cutting the cable with proper nippers that you can get from Amazon or a bike shop. Cuts down on frayed ends. A Dremel tool with a wheel works too. Dip the end in flux and wick up some solder to finish up

just make sure you take pix as you dissaemble.

It's a bit fiddly and not obvious
