teardrop markers on '69

Post by onsight512 »

Are the teardrop side lights on a '69 Roadster running lights, or turn signals?

Thanks Shannon. The car is getting rewired today and they're going to become turn signals. I figure it can't hurt.

Not the rears. They got 'deleted' when the paint was done.

I turned my teardrops into turn signals on one of my cars. I like the look.

Well this always makes me nervous.

I rewired mine to dual filament with a new shorter socket and LED bulb since a regular bulb doesn't want to fit and the LED is cooler.

Curtis, I want to do this. Can you post what is the bulb that you bought that fits in the housing well? If there is anything else needed to install, I'd love the pointers since electrical is not my strength.

I did a mod to my '70 rectangular front side markers to make them dual function (running lights and turn signals). It's here in the TechWiki:

http://www.311s.org/pmwiki-311/pmwiki.p ... arkerLight

I was able to source a low profile dual filament bulb to fit under the lens.

I would say that the 69 is much easier. Press out the old socket carefully out of the cast housing and tap in a new shorter socket. Rewiring the socket with correct color wires is more work than anything.
