It's alive!!! After scraping my hands in a couple places I got all the damn hoses on for the heater and valve. Glass bowl fuel filter has a new gasket but apparently isn't sealing which I will have to check. Have a later fuel filter I swapped on and the gas began to flow.
Took a bit to get the 123 distributor in the right place and away she went. Not sure why but the distributor is off one position. When I put the drive gear in I checked it with a stock distributor. Have to look at it again.
This gasket was recommended to me for glass bowl filters if you think it would help.
Thanks. The cork gasket has always worked well for me but I'll pick up a couple just in case it doesn't want to seal. Previously I had to wet sand the rim on a piece of glass.

Thanks. I was bound and determined to get it running so I don't have to push it anymore. I already had two non op cars in the garage for a year and a half. The other one comes back in March maybe.

This is something that is good to have on hand because sometimes you need to open the filter bowl when you hadn't planned to, and then the gasket that was sealing suddenly won't.

I pulled the 123 distributor and put in the original last night after getting TDC. Sure enough the original points where it is supposed to. Did some searching and it turns out the 123 is just like that, doesn't point the same place for number 1. I'm thinking because it is a distributor they make for several cars it is that way. I saw posts for other makes of cars stating the same thing. The suggestion was change the position of the drive gear if you want it there. I don't care and I don't want to take a chance on getting it a tooth off. If it ain't broke...

Learned something new today about the washer nozzles. Not exactly an interior item but the hose does run inside. I have 3 sets of nozzles or so I thought since on 3 of them the hole was on one side and the other 3 the hole was on the other. In the parts manual there is only one number listed. I went online and tried to find photos. Two that I found were on here for the features of the 67.5 2000. One has both nozzles to right and the other right and left. Hmm.
Called Ross and talked about it and he was calling Mike Young and was going to ask him for me. In the meantime he looked at a set of NOS nozzles and they were the same to the right. Okay. So I looked at the nozzle and decided to see if the screw would actually turn since often times it is fixed in place on some parts. And it turns and comes apart. You can spin the hole around to adjust it. There is a special plastic washer inside that you will probably never find a replacement for. I'm glad I found this out since I am going to have 4 of them rechromed and it would likely destroy it. I imagine some of you knew this but it was all new to me especially since this car didn't have nozzles.

I ventured in to the garage this morning which is a balmy 48 degrees. Turned on the heaters to preheat and take the edge off with snow outside.
On the advice of Mike Young I drilled a 1/16" hole in each windshield wiper pivot and used a grease needle on them. Not sure how much I got in but they turn nice. Wish I had a one size down bit to drill with as the needle is .04 in diameter. The needle is hard to get out of the grease gun.

I want to protect my package shelf so I bought some felt to make a double layer cover. My wife sewed it up for me and she even sewed in lines to match.

Got the heater in today. What a PITA climbing under the dash. Was not as bad without the dash installed.
I had 3 early motors, one NOS, the one from the car that made noise and was painted black and one that was dead. I also had another one that has a smaller diameter motor. After checking photos of heaters I find it is a later motor and works well.
I looked at the parts manual for part numbers and there were two. However it did not have the to and from model years listed. The later motor screws right in to the earlier housing and it blows much harder. The early motor is kind of anemic. So in it went and I now have heater that will keep me very warm for winter driving.

Put the right door together today. I thought someone on here asked about getting the window to stay in the tracks while putting it in. I didn't have any trouble with it. I left the winder loose, put in the window and then screwed the winder down after.
Thought I was going to have trouble with the wing window but it wiggled on down.

Put the left door together yesterday. As is so common with these the door handle actuator the nylon washer was split. You can't remove it and replace it. So I got a second washer, split it and super glued it to the other one.

The saga of the teardrop screws. Went to put my second teardrop cover on but I found I only had one screw. Who knows where the other went. All I can tell you after this don't lose them.
Tried to figure out what thread it was so I go to the metric thread chart for 4mm. Standard is 0.5 and 0.7 pitch. If only it was that easy. Pitch gauge does not fit. Finally I figure out it is 0.75 pitch. Turns out like the SU screws it is an old standard. A search online and there is almost nothing and what I did find was too short and $10.50 each.
Took an old crappy body and ran the 0.7 tap in it and it was fine. So of all things my tap and die set has .75 in it. So I go buy some 0.7 screws, run the die part way down and I have the screws I need. Head was a bit big so I did my chuck it in the drill and run it against the belt sander trick.
