Which hose size/type to use.

Howdy Gang,
Need to replace the hose that goes between the filler cap through the trunk gasket to the gas tank. Would an old chunk of radiator hose work? Don't want to chemically melt anything. Breather hose too.
Thanks,
Kendall

You need to get something rated for fuel, I would not use an old radiator hose.

Yeah, neither would I. O'Reilly has some. Comes in 3' lengths. Looks like 1.5" diameter. She really sloshes around when hitting the corners. My girlfriend was a little concerned about the smell. I told her smelling gas, though not good, was better than smelling smoke.

I told he we'd try to out run the flames.

She just smiled and said "please fix that."

Dean sells a Gates hose, cut to approx size I believe. For a TEMPORARY fix until proper hose arrives, you can wrap it with self fusing silicone tape. I would also check the smaller vent hose, they tend to get very stiff up on top of the tank, it's standard fuel line..

It looks like Dayco 80305 is also a 1 7/8" ID x 3ft long fuel hose.

I bought the Gates hose and it is very good. Very rugged. I had a hard time making a clean cut through it. It has a thick steel wire running though it. But once that is cut. Your good.

Probably a big savings over buying a 3 foot length.

If you need this and have an O'Reilly Auto Parts near you, they show to stock it. $28.99/foot.
