Floor Jacks

Post by DatsunBucky »

I hope this is OK to post here. It's not really an advertisement, more like a notice of something for sale by someone else.

If any of you are contemplating getting a floor jack, check out Sears. There is a floor jack for sale for $20(!) that has a 2 1/4-ton rating, and a hard case. It doesn't look as cool as an aluminum jack, but it has a higher lift-weight rating and sells for 1/10th as much! And the hard case is definitely a plus. According to the rating, they'll lift two of our babies at the same time.

Weight is listed at 33 lbs, compared to 44 for the aluminum jack (only a 2-ton rating). The stock number is 50523, and I'm not sure how long they'll be that price. The price is available over the internet or in the store, and here in Salt Lake we've got about 40-50 on hand. Even at regular price, they're still only $40. They're Craftsman brand, and have a 1-year warranty, same as the aluminum version. The lifetime warranty is only for hand tools (with a few exceptions), some garden hoses and a water pump or two.

It's no big deal to me. I don't get anything for this, but I thought maybe someone is in the market for one and this will save them some money.

Sorry about that. Before I made that post I checked on sears.com and it showed at the sale price. I didn't see the ad, so it might have been one of those one-day sales. Since I work at Sears I'll keep my eyes peeled for anything I think people might like.

Again, sorry for the information, but it seemed valid at the time I posted.

I did see a two ton jack for $14.98.

Don't apologize, I appreciate a heads up to any deal. If I'd been around this weekend I'd probably have a new jack by now.

thanks Bucky!

Don't worry about the local in store price. Often the brick-n-motor have diferent prices and sales than the dot.com.

I bought Sears.com stuff online before. Pay by credit card and they will make you choose to ship it or pick it up at the nearest brick-n-motor.

That is what happedn to me when I bought some Craftsman tappet wrenches for adjusting my valves. The local place was charging like 19.99 regular price while the online had them for 10.99 regular. This was about a month ago.

The cool thing is if when you pick up and Sears pick-up service doesn't fill your order in "5-minutes" its and automatic $5 off. It's all automated.
