Nissan blue was the original color of the engines, Dean @ Fairlady has matching paint he sells for the engine.

If you want the bone stock color than the Nissan Blue is the right color and the vendors have it. It is a dark blue-green color that I never thought was very attractive. Some people paint the block to match the exterior pain color, others go with a custom color- it all depends on what you want.

That's the nice part about these cars- they can have whatever color pallette you want.

Good Luck,

If you are on a budget and you want a fairly close color to the stock color, there is a shade of GM corporate blue that fills the bill. Cheap at the local discount auto parts stores too! Just clean things well and have fun!

No for more Roadster esoterica. The single carb 1500s had bright red blocks and heads and the 3 carb 1500s had black blocks and heads. I have seen some 66 1600s that have black blocks and heads as long as they were iron heads. It appears that Nissan may have gone to the blue when they put aluminum heads on the cars.

If you are trying to look stock, go with a shade of blue. If you are building a custom, go with whatever trips your trigger!

Sids right. That is the exact color I went for. A GM Blue.

The stock color is actaully a turqoise. i seem to like the Red. The Datsun Brochure I have an image of has chromed out U20 motor and a red block. If I had seen that photo before I painted it I would have done that.
