I dont think so. Im guessing the inside of the pipe should be golden or tan, like the spark plugs  I think these engines like to run all day. Short jaunts tend to "gum" them up.

IDan'd go with the stock NGK 1600 plugs unless you have a big cam, large carbs or some other reason for something unusual.
SPL311 aka Skooter. Sold. Now wasting away in the SF area.
1990 Nissan 300zx. Sold this one too.

I'm confused , did the 1600 also had a performance cam option? ( nothing I have read about roadsters hints to this ),

It's an Isky grind that KD sorted for me.

I'm SURE they must have had SOME specifications.

Currently having problems with Eliza.
She will fun fine , then suddenly will start sputtering as if missing a cylinder, then run fine again. It is all intermittent.
New plugs, (though it did this with the old ones)
Damper oil ok
Any ideas??

My car did this and it turned out to be a broken/breaking wire inside the distributor. Run fine, then flutter, then run fine and so on. I missed it the first time I took off the cap while sitting on the side of the road when it finally broke completely.
66 stroker, almost done.
67 basket case, paint coming soon.

Does it backfire through the carbs? If so, lean condition for some reason. However, it sounds more like spark to me. Usually an overly rich condition will have the engine be more sluggish than sputtering in my experience. You can check the plug color for a rich condition, but if you're missing it will show rich too since the fuel is not burning. A wide band A/F meter would let you know what is happening to some degree when it occurs, especially if it is leaning out (ain't that helpful!).
