I recently purchased a 1969 SPL311 1600 Roadster and in the process of returning almost everything back to stock ! I need to know the correct mounting location of the stock horn or horns ? Is there 1 or 2 horns because I don't know because mine have been removed ! On another subject what is the correct location for the windshield washer container and pump ? Any suggestions on a electric fuel pump that will be compatable with this auto because my stock one has died ! THANKS VERY MUCH AND ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED !!! DON !!!

There are two horns on every roadster-one a high and one a low. They mount on each side of the radiator in between the grill and the radiator. The stock horns were held in with two bolts. You should be able to see the brackets if you look real close. Any good auto parts place should carry a horn set for an import car. You need the pair of high/low horns to mount in place of the missing ones. I cannot help you on the windshield washer pump for a '69 as all of my cars of the low windshield variety. Someone else will help-I am sure! Stock fuel pumps are still available and usually last a long time. If you put an electric in , you should put in a pressure cut-off switch that will kill the fuel pump in an accident. Go with the stock fuel pump Beck Arnley PN 151-5618-around $50.00.

The washer tank on the late cars mounts in the same general area as the earlier cars - between the aircleaner and the overflow tank for the radiator. The pump is affixed to the bottom of the tank.

Any fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator combination will do so long as to meet the fuel psi requirement for your R16... Off hand and I don't know wht the psi needed for a R16 is.

I am using an CBPerformance rotary inline 3.5 psi electric fuel pump with a replaceable filter. Its pretty quite and fits underneath passenger side along the frame. Since it is below the 3.9 psi my U20 requires I don't need a pressure regulator.

The pumps is designed for a VW's but is works on my U20. The U20 requires 3.9 psi. I might have a problem when I get really high in speed where I will could see fuel starvation. However, it is not likely I will ever get that fast often enough to worry.

I am actually researching the cost for adapting the VW turbos on my U20.

I believe it is some where between 2-1/2 to 3 lbs for a 1600 motor.
