It looks as if someone thinks our obsessions may turn out to be profitable. The article starts with a nice photo of a '68 1600 but then seems to be mostly focused on other Japanese makes.

That nice Roadster is clearly a 2000. It has a 2000 grille and the front plate says "2000".

$130,000 for a Toyota 2000GT vs. $10,000 Roadster 2000

Toyota: Built on a sturdy X-backbone frame, the 2000GT's 4-wheel independent suspension had double-wishbones front and back. The engine, a 1988cc DOHC 6-cylinder unit with 3 Solex carburetors, produced 150 horsepower, good for a top speed of over 130 mph. Aside from the rear disc brakes and IRS. I say it is a very close tie.

BTW: GM owes Toyota an apology, for the Opel GT coupe of the 1970's is a flat-out copy.

Actually, it's a RHD non-US model so the teardrop markers might be correct for 1968. I didn't see any round markers in the back...
