It looks as if someone thinks our obsessions may turn out to be profitable. The article starts with a nice photo of a '68 1600 but then seems to be mostly focused on other Japanese makes.

$130,000 for a Toyota 2000GT vs. $10,000 Roadster 2000
Toyota: Built on a sturdy X-backbone frame, the 2000GT's 4-wheel independent suspension had double-wishbones front and back. The engine, a 1988cc DOHC 6-cylinder unit with 3 Solex carburetors, produced 150 horsepower, good for a top speed of over 130 mph. Other features included a close-ratio 5-speed transmission, limited slip differential, and Japan's first 4-wheel vacuum-boosted disc brakes. http://www.fast-autos.net/toyota/toyota2000gt.html
Aside from the rear disc brakes and IRS. I say it is a very close tie.
BTW: GM owes Toyota an apology, for the Opel GT coupe of the 1970's is a flat-out copy.
