Is it me, or has the traffic on the board dropped to nothing?

It's just you, Sid. :D Actually, I was thinking the same thing. No new messages the last couple of days. C'mon people. There must be something to say!

I think everyone in Ca. is trying to get their cars ready for Solvang. Mine will not be attending :( the oil leak doen't want to go away. It will be at Shasta (famous last words).

RE:Board Traffic

Post by S Allen »

Well, it has been quiet of late but all things considered this board is doing well. The roadster list has its quiet times as well. Anyone going to Solvang this coming weekend? See you there. Have a great time at RA Sid.

Major oil leak

Post by SLOroadster »

When I rebuilt the bottom end and fixed the rear main seal, I caught the front of the headgasket with the top of the timing cover and pushed it inward. The result is an oil leak from between the head and the timing cover. I just noticed the headgasket peaking out from under the inspection plate last night. I thought it was coming from the side, but is being blown over to the left side by the alternator fan and making a real mess. At the same time I noticed that one of the lower intake/header studs felt that it didn't need the nut and lock washer on it and dropped them off as well. The result was a coolent leak from the water jacket that runs into the intake. I am starting to think that my Fairlady is being more of a fair sized pain in the butt. I doubt that I have 20 miles on the engine since I put it back in.

I think this topic has left the BOARD PROBLEMS area now.
