MASTER CYLIDNDERS. Need Help
Ok I need both a break and clutch master cylinder is what is the cheep way to get this done? Is their any other master cylinders that i can use? the rebuild kits are pretty pricy. the condition of the ones i have now are not that good i would hafto do quite a bit of work to get them back up and working. thanks for any of your feedback.

The rebuild kits are not bad at all from my experience. The problem is that if the cylinder has been severely neglected, it may not be rebuildable. Check with Napa for the kits. You will need to go on a day when they are slow as it will take them a while to find the part number.
Rallye shows the brake master cylinder kits for $33 each, and the clutch kit for $38. I am willing to bet that Napa would cut that price in half or better. Be prepared for the possibility that the wrong item can come in though.
Check with the other vendors though. Rallye is often on the higher end of the scale. Whatever you do, make sure that the repair is done right. The clutch is not as bad, but you are taking your life into your own hands by taking shortcuts on the braking system....

I can attest that the Clutch rebuild kit from Rallye is a simple fix. It includes a new piston with mounted seals.
The Brake Master Cylinder is giving me fits. The large caps on the bottom of the cylinder were bears to remove and it was tough to get the innermost piston out of the cylinder. All that pales in comparison to trying to get the seals on the innermost piston.
I may have to resort to a reman '77 208Z 7/8" master cylinder after all that work anyway.

You get the kits on EBay for around $12-25 depending if there are people needing the smae thing when you do.
I read on an earlier post that the Datsun 510 have identical brake and clutch master. The only difference is that the max fluid level line is a little off. The Roadster fire wall is slanted while the 510 is a straight. I'm guessing if the the master are indeed the same reuse your old fluid containers with the proper max fluid line on the new 510 masters.
However the early 280Z brake master would give you better performace. They are a bit longer than the original so if you use dual solex you have clearance issues witht the original solex air filter asssembly.

As with any kind of swap, check things thoroughly. I believe that the 510 master has metric threads. I believe that one of the trucks has SAE threads, but don't have my notes here.
