teardrop markers on '69
Are the teardrop side lights on a '69 Roadster running lights, or turn signals?

Thanks Shannon. The car is getting rewired today and they're going to become turn signals. I figure it can't hurt.sfdaugherty wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 1:38 pm Running lights unless you replace the bulbs and rewire them..

Are you going to do the rears as well?

Not the rears. They got 'deleted' when the paint was done.

Re: teardrop markers on '69
I turned my teardrops into turn signals on one of my cars. I like the look.

Well this always makes me nervous.onsight512 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2020 2:11 pm Thanks Shannon. The car is getting rewired today and they're going to become turn signals. I figure it can't hurt.
I rewired mine to dual filament with a new shorter socket and LED bulb since a regular bulb doesn't want to fit and the LED is cooler.

Curtis, I want to do this. Can you post what is the bulb that you bought that fits in the housing well? If there is anything else needed to install, I'd love the pointers since electrical is not my strength.Curtis wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2020 10:33 am

Re: teardrop markers on '69
I did a mod to my '70 rectangular front side markers to make them dual function (running lights and turn signals). It's here in the TechWiki:
http://www.311s.org/pmwiki-311/pmwiki.p ... arkerLight
I was able to source a low profile dual filament bulb to fit under the lens.

Re: teardrop markers on '69
I would say that the 69 is much easier. Press out the old socket carefully out of the cast housing and tap in a new shorter socket. Rewiring the socket with correct color wires is more work than anything.70-1600 wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 12:51 pm I did a mod to my '70 rectangular front side markers to make them dual function (running lights and turn signals).
