Need Help 68 2000 New El Distributor Install

Hi All,

Looking for some help installing my new EI distributor in the correct orientation. The old distributor and distributor pedestal were completely removed so we're starting from scratch. I've included photos showing the current set-up with the El distributor installed and engine on the compression stroke with both valves on cylinder #1 in the up position.

I know I'm missing something because the car doesn't like the current set-up and will not start.

Feel free to give me a call, I'll talk you through it. Just looking at the one picture showing your rotor, if that is supposed to currently be pointing to #1 cylinder, your initial set up is off.

Tom must have a very clear, refined set of instructions by now on the EI installation. Great!
Worth a post up on the site somewhere if it improves on the current instructions, which can be a bit confusing in spots.
