Re: Front Brakes.
Are all three brake hoses the same? RockAuto, sent me different hoses for the front and rear, however, the fronts are wrong............
Looks like the rear hose will fit for front and rear.
I don't know, at this point should I just send them back and get the stainless brake hoses........ the rockauto hoses are only $5.
I've really learned a lesson regarding using the vendors..............
Linda, your learning curve post helped out a lot.

Re: Front Brakes.
wrong ? how so?? - fitting? length?
They can all be same length!
Get stainless - more expensive - but DONE & DUSTED. - and while at it, why not clutch slave - JT68 has a WONDERUL flexible alternative. IMHO!
If you still have rubber coating on brake lines, remove it, good rust potential otherwise.
And fit speed bleeders
And vise is best - even pressure.

Re: Front Brakes.
Bob,
If you bring or send in your hoses , an exact match can be made in stainless covered Teflon . Hydraulic hose supply near you should work, or local to me is Orme Brothers: www.ormebrothers.com . In business forever, excellent quality. They can do your oil hose too with your old fitting which is NLA.
They made all mine while I waited.
Supposedly you get better performance from the SS hose.

Re: Front Brakes.
Here are pics of the hoses, I think the rear hose will fit the fronts as well, the front hoses have the wrong fittings.

Re: Front Brakes.
RockAuto sends 510 parts sometimes, also a 1600, I believe. Check for 2000 hoses.
510 hoses are incorrect threads, I believe. Do not use til verified.

Re: Front Brakes.
I replaced all rubber lines with the braided ones and I noticed the pedals feel firmer. Especially the clutch.

Re: Front Brakes.
Ok, it's complete and bled, and seam to be working good. BUT............ I don't think the pads are releasing correctly. I can barely turn the rotors by hand. I'm thinking maybe I didn't clean the surface of the caliper where the sides of the pads ride in the caliper or do they need a little lithium grease on the sides. Or..... do I just let them wear in a little bit. My concern is that if they aren't releasing correctly then those little rotors are going to heat up.
Suggestions..............
I just put the tire on and with the extra weight it seems to turn ok, but I can still hear the pads on the rotors, Do you think it's okay.

Re: Front Brakes.
I have seen the pads be a very tight fit in the calipers. I would sand down the sides of the backing pads so that they slide in and out with no resistance. As they heat up, they expand so if the fit is tight cold, it'll only get worse when hot.
"When all else fails, force prevails!" Ummm, we're gonna need a bigger hammer here.
