Carpet Kits
All of the vendors should be able to supply you with a nice carpet set. The ones from JC Whitney are actually pretty good for the price. I bought a set for my 64 from Chester and Herrod. Nice stuff and great people!

RE:Carpet & Padding
Yes, all of the vendors carry carpet kits. J.C. Whitless does also. I used a padding with a foil backing more for noise control than actual padding. It comes in 3 foot wide rolls. You cut it to shape and glue it in place and then use an aluminum tape to seal the seams. J.C. Whitless carries the padding, glue and tape. So far it is holding up well.

I don't recommend installing carpet without the insulation.
The padding will really prolong the life of the carpet and it just feels better. Every new home buyer is educated on importance of padding when selecting the carpeting. I went low-mid grade carpet with highest grade padding on the my last 2 home purchases. I love walking barefoot in my house. It's like walking on a giant pillow.
What Steve suggests is what I intend to do. The padding material I can't say since that phase of my car is ot for 3-4 months away. The foil backing is a good for sound deadening, and heat blocking. Also the foil backing will help prevent spillage from soaking in to the padding
It is a nice luxury when my wife take her shoes off in the car. Don't know why women do, but hey 1st the shoes then comes the stocking if you know what I mean... J/K

pictures please.....!!!!! wink wink
I just got a new kit from ABC upholtery. The price on line is wrong. The total was $166.80 shipped to Pismo Beach. The turnaround on the order was about one week. I'm not sure how it compares to others but I like the fact it is all one molded piece with padding on it. I thought it would have the carpet for the rear deck but that wasn't the case so I guess it's time to get custom!

p.s. I just ripped out the old carpet and found a hole big enough to drop a football threw on the passenger's side! Time to call Mike Young...

Thanks, Lance.
Now, I no where to get seat heaters.
Keeps you real toasty on the even when it is chilly and the top is down.
