K&N custom fitted stock air filters

Post by Minh »

I was told that K&N can custom insert their filters paper into a used existing filter for about $80.

i just got a brand new U20 filter for $35 (3-packs go $80). The K&N custom fitting seems to be a viable option...

Does anyone have any experience. with this?

(R16 owners have a little lucky since a mushroom filter can be fitted onto the filter case's intake port.)

Unless I am mistaken, you are going down a path that has already been blazed by a vendor. Last I heard, Stan Chernoff had the K&N type (different manufacturer) filters for the 2000s for $40 or so each. Drop him a line for the details.

I EMailed Stan... The price is correct - $40. He has foam filters that are a direct replacement to the stock filters.

Further info: they are reusable after cleaning. A periodic recharge is needed using the K&N filter recharger. Just that I passed this on to anyone that cares.
