Southern California 10th Annual Meguiar's Award

Post by S Allen »

Here is a chance to show your roadster off with a bunch of other car buffs and promote the roadster as a true sports car.

"Dear Car Club President,

We would like to invite you and your club members to join with 3,400 other car enthusiasts at the fabulous Kodak Theatre at Hollywood and Highland to celebrate our incurable state of car craziness at the 10th annual Meguiar's Award gala.together with car guys from all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico and other international markets who will join us via SPEED Channel.

This is the ultimate car club outing. Where else can you go to be with masses of car club members of all types and descriptions from all over Southern California? If you're a car guy, you won't want to miss this historic event on Saturday, June 19, at 6:45 p.m.

Twenty-one of our nation's leading automotive journalists serve on the Meguiar's Award Selection Committee to select one person, out of the twenty five million participants in the car hobby, to honor as the person of the year. This year we will honor Corky Coker, president of Coker Tire and SEMA chairman, as the Collector Car Hobby's Person of the Year 2004. Corky has been one of our hobby's most active participants and one of our most influential voices on issues and legislation that adversely affect the car hobby.

The evening's activities will also include recognition of three Treasures of the Hobby--lowrider legends, Julio Ruelas and Fernando Ruelas of Duke's, the world's oldest lowrider car club, and Nellie Jackson, matriarch of the famed Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction.

Whether we have one car or a collection, we are all driven by the same car crazy passion that is the inspiration for Meguiar's successful weekly Car Crazy television show. Car clubs of every type from antique, classics, tuners, and hot rods to sports cars and exotics will be on hand for this extravaganza that will include a special Beatles tribute concert and stage show by The Fab Four who have performed at the Hollywood Bowl, the Las Vegas Hilton and other prestigious venues around the world.

Best of all, the entire evening is a gift to the car hobby from the Meguiar family. Admission is free, on an invitation- only basis, limited to the first 3,400 people, 18 years of age or older. Respond quickly to this advance mailing and indicate your club affiliation so that we can attempt to seat you with other members of your club. Call Kim or Ashley at (818) 712-9572 by April 30th, and visit our website at www.meguiars.com for more information on this event.

Best regards,

Barry Meguiar
President/CEO"
