front bumber brackets

Post by kokomo »

Does anyone have any extra reasonably straight front bumper brackets. Had bumper straightened and chromed.
And old brackets don't get it. THe triangular design is hard to restraightened with just hand tools.
Please pm me. Thanks

I commiserate with you! It took more time consuming straightening than I expected in order to be able to mount my new bumpers. I have an extra set but I don't recommend them.

As a general rule, you want to get those dialed in prior to rechroming and painting the car. Chances are that if the brackets are tweaked (and mine certainly were) then the mounting points on the bumper are tweaked accordingly. You are probably better off starting with new ones like in the link, but don't expect them to fit without some persuasion, unless the bumper you are using was never impacted.
