Ignition wiring for dummies

Post by Bigtaku » Fri Jan 11, 2019 2:41 pm

Can someone tell me what the two wires connect to on the ignition? I don’t have these labeled and one was pulled and gone.

I'd have to look at a wiring diagram but it would be nice if it turned on a buzzer when you left your keys in the ignition. This getting old takes some adjustment.

The seventy switch had a buzzer. I believe that is what is in the picture

This is from a 68 but it may have been changed out at some point by po. I looked at wiring diagrams but the two wires are not shown, just the plug wires from the back. Maybe because I was looking at the wrong year diagram. I like the buzzer idea because if it is, I don't need to worry about them. :D

On the 70, There is a push button switch in the door post that activates the buzzer when you open the door. Buzzer is mounted under the dash on driver side.

Your ignition switch has been swapped to a 70. Yes, door buzzer connection.
