my neighbor down the streets has a 1963-65 red convertible corvair under wraps in his drive way : - )
I did see him working on getting it running a few years ago, but its still wrapped up tight on the driveway ..

1965 introduced the 2nd generation body style. Is it an early car like mine, or more curvy like '65-'69? Either way, I love em.

I loved my turbo. When I first got it I was 16. Got on the freeway and the next thing I know is I'm going 80.

Replaced upper spindles and bushings on my '66 "Survivor". While I was there, replaced lower ball joint boots, rest of front end is in great shape, with original patina intact.
Pretty close to having her done to my liking. Waiting for some warm weather to get her running and carbs adjusted. Nice to have brought her back to life after 45 years dormant. Pat

Sometimes it's the little things. It's nice when your car is far enough along that you start looking for things that need attention just so you can work on it.

I know that I brought this up to you on facebook, but I don't think that you answered. How do you know that it is the RM seal? No matter where oil leaks out of the motor it is going to look like it is coming from the hole between the transmission and the bell housing. Is the plate on the back of the bell housing totally clean?

Rear of the head, tach cable, and other accessories are clean. I have done the oil pan a couple times including cutting the rear bearing side seals flush last time. There is nothing else back there that can leak that I know of. If you push the bell housing plate it forces more oil out.

Front transmission seal. That's where my leak is that I thought was rear main.

I do think it's rear just because of how dirty it is when my gear oil is fresh (and greenish). But either one is a full engine pull to address.

Believe I fixed my intermittent high idle issue. I thought it might be an air leak but I think one of the dog bones was too tight and not allowing the linkage to return all the way back.

Curtis ,
Sweet ! That really is a ‘gear box’ in the fullest sense of the phrase!
I’m still waiting on mine and the too 🥴
Good luck either rest of the project!
