Sorry that your so frustrated with the current leaks, but that has to be the cleanest undercarriage I've ever seen except a car that was on the assemlyline two minutes ago!!

Looks showroom clean to me (sans current leaks ). Still sweet

That's why it hurts! Starting out super clean knowing I got oil going everywhere. It's like full on misting the back as the differential flange spins for example.

Well fuel line under the passenger side leaking again. Gonna redo that whole line with copper nickel alloy I think. Tried to get the fitting tighter but it wants to turn the line with it.

I also noticed my SU tops had loosened up some and one leaked! I am really gonna get an achievement for experiencing every Datsun leak :)

Pulled the line fitting out, lubed everything and sanded the outside of the line a bit smoother. Seems to be dry now...

Rear deck tonneau (hard) layout kicked off. Looking for Solvang 2022 debut.

Looking to do (optimistically) 3 versions:
U shaped (clear rollbar, no central tang. This one can be 1-piece.
W shaped, clear rollbar, central tang. Has to be 2 piece.
W shaped with seatback fairings. (this requires complete tool fab)

Custom tonneau sounds fun!

I replaced my super warped crank pulley with an only slightly warped new crank pulley from Ross.

In my laziness I puzzled out how to do it without even undoing any radiator hoses.

Old one was full gumby:

In preparation for LGGPR I swapped back to my 4:62 limited slip. I’m thinking seriously about embarrassing myself by trying the autocross this year. My biggest fear is getting lost on the track! That jumble of cones is hard to decipher. At least on the road course you can’t get lost😀. Funny, when I put the stock 3:70’s in I thought that the “quickness” wasn’t diminished as much as I thought it would be. When I put the 4:62’s back in today I was surprised at how much quicker it is.

Carpet looks super clean! Are you missing the big floor grommet for the gask tank or?

I put in a second new oil pan gasket to try and address the leak. The thick one from Dean didn't survive. :( This time I bought a dremel and ground the side seals flush. I did a bead of Right Stuff along the cap/block seam too. Pray for me guys!

No, the fill tube grommet is there. It was painted by the PO and some of the paint is flaking off.

Really nice carpeting job in the trunk. Looks a hell of a lot better than the factory grey plasticity vinyl sheet. 👍👍

I finally bought some decent quality tie down straps since I plan to tow to more autocross and track events next year. The bigger hooks with safety snaps didn’t fit well on the available locations under the car. I bought 4 Eye-Nuts and secured them to the body mounts on the frame with large fender washers. The ride above the bottom of the frame and give a good angle to the tiedowns on my trailer. Hopefully this will make loading and unloading much easier.

Yesterday finished splitting apart the leaf springs, and started the long process of converting them into giant rust clouds. Its going to be a while cleaning them for coating. Today, was able to press out the bushings in the eyes. My next several days is going to be more grinding. Hope my refill order of masks shows up soon

Left my lights on twice for >1 hour last couple days. Maybe I'm getting that early 30s dementia. Luckily full LEDs and a very overqualified battery.
