Roadster Drive Today. Monday, 8-2-21.
67 SR20DET. 184 miles. Camano Island.
Nice warm sunny day but some forest fire smoke haze.
Drove to a recently discovered small uncrowded county park on the ocean on the north end of Camano Island.
English Boom Park.
Great spot for a drive destination.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Every year the city of St. Albert Alberta plays host to one of the largest car show weekends in all of western Canada. Often more than 700 cars show up for the Saturday show n shine along the Sturgeon River in the downtown. This year has a few modifications but is going ahead after a year from COVID .
Tonight was a show at the local Casino... pent up desire to be out and about these days.. over 200 cars showed up ... and everyone was respectful of Social distancing . Most were American Muscle , but if you love cars... all are pretty amazing . My lil Datsun , as always, waved the true sports car flag. We have all heard the comments surrounding our beloved roadsters, and tonight was no exception. Folks love it, even surrounded by vintage trucks, rat rods, and a few British Lucas cursed autos. Fun was had my all.... many events throughout the week to come.
P.S. the Grey Hudson Hornet was absolutely amazing. A true piece of automotive history.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
NWDE attends the Cruise the Narrows car show. 8-7-21. Gig Harbor.
Drove 98 miles to our favorite car show with 13 other Datsuns!
Great turnout of 14 Datsuns from our local car club, NWDE.
11 roadsters!!, 1 300ZX, 1 610 , 1 1964 320 truck.
This usual American Iron car show , about 200 entries, likes our Datsuns.
They save a row for us to park under shady trees.
They even have a class, "Best Datsun" for us to win an award.
Weather was a bit iffy early with some light rain but only one roadster drove with top up.
Our Datsuns got 2! trophies out of 15. The 320 truck and the black SR20 roadster.
Not the usual classes this year. The staff just picked their favorites.
Since most left a bit early, I got to pose with the trophies!

That's a gorgeous shot!
I met a new roadster, Jonathan who is from Australia. He wanted to see my hardtop so we met over the weekend. Threw him the keys to my roadster and we took both cars out for a spin.
He had blast and I told him to introduce himself here. It's funny...I know that I take alot of pictures but Jonathan has got me beat

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Had the best Datsun spotting on Sunday! On an evening drive, merging onto the freeway I noticed an orange 510 wagon...it was Nick from Z Car Garage! Somehow our day's events had us crossing paths at the same time while Enjoying The Ride: he was cruising Soutbound on HW 85 as I was just hopping on.
Video of the chance encounter:
I stopped for some photos after we went our separate ways, Enjoy

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Datsun Roadster Drive today. Wednesday. 8-25-21. 64 1500.
123 miles. Index. Another nice warm sunny PNW day.
Short drive along the preferred, lightly traveled, back roads ending on Reiter Rd.
to the N Fork of the Skykomish River at Index in the Cascades foothills.
Perfect spot to park along the river for a little "river time".

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
I drove to the shop on Sunday to pickup a little gift Rob got for me...a commemorative pin of the new Nissan Z!
This pin is #352/400 made by Leen's Customs in collaboration with Nissan, solely (Free!) for attendees of the private unveiling of the new Z in Brooklyn, NY. As soon as Rob told me he grabbed one for me, I knew exactly where I wanted to put it...on my shoulder harness!
I don't collect pins, but about 20 years ago from a Shasta event or something else I was given these three pins. They ended up on the harness. So the New Z will join them.
