NEW 304 Stainless Tailight bases and trim

Post by zippy67roadster »

These are brand new parts made in 304 stainless and polished to a high shine. For the $275 you get 4 bases and 4 trim rings with the hardware to attach your light assembly to the bases. They do not come with the gaskets or the light assembly. The bases do not have the small beveled edge like the originals but it doesn't effect the look or functionality. The very top of the base you can see a slight distortion from where the top mounting bolt bracket was welded inside but it is very slight and only noticeable due to the high mirror shine. The original bases had captured nuts on them that rusted and broke when you tried to take them apart so we decided to delete the captive nut and replace it with a stainless nut, split washer and bolt so they won't ever rust and you will always be able to get them apart. You can find them here https://sincitydatsuns.com/store/p283/N ... rings.html

I just got mine and they look great. The welding distortion on the top is barely visible, easier to see with the part moving in your hand, once on the car very difficult to see. As you can see in the first photo they mount up perfectly to the car (body work and paint to come later in this project). The second photo shows a 54yo OEM part (left) and Sin City's new part (right). As typical stainless steel is a little different color than chrome, but since all the parts are stainless it looks great. I plan to get a set of stainless steel bumpers as well. BTW I also purchased a new trunk handle from Sin City and it is a beautiful stainless casting, very high quality finish.

Yes these are a copy of the Nissan ones made in 304 stainless so no rust or plating issues.
