I used the the Permatex equivalent to the Toyota sealant and a stock gasket to seal up my comp pan along with the crank scraper that's in there now. Best it's ever sealed. The bolts do have a tendency to loosen over time, so use loctite, but do check them after awhile. I don't use a torque wrench on them, just tighten and watch the gasket for excessive squishing or bulging.

Since you absolutely cannot buy a new pulley lock plate for the crank pulley for the early cars I'm making one. Maybe someone out there is hoarding one. Bought a carbide tipped hole saw. Every one of these is either missing the tab or just beat up
This is the prototype. Now I need the outside diameter saw.
Fits the bolt perfectly, better than the OEM one.

Yes and no. In a sense it doesn't require much to do that now. Design it, transfer it to coordinates for the cutter. This actually takes less time to make the one than to do the other. The advantage is they can turn out one after another with no effort. But as is seen no one has bothered to do it which does us little good. When you need it now that's what you do.Gregs672000 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 1:55 pm Aren't you jealous of the guys on TV who just computer draw a part and have the plasma/laser/superman eyes cut out the perfect part!?

I hear ya man. I'm a shade tree backyard mechanic, to my credit and occasional demise! I have plumbing fittings from Home Depot for some of the systems I've made cause what I needed didn't exist or wasn't available fast enough for me or was waaaaaay to expensive. May not be "show car" quality but what matters most to me is IT WORKS! And IMHO it doesn't look bad either...

I have autocad but it's 2010 so not meant for modern stuff. Ir does have 3d and can do a 3d printer file. But washer not plastic so no use anyway.

Got some pulley washer blanks made. Need the tabs cut in now. Two hole saws and a drill bushing work nicely.

After 21 years SPL311-06707 off to paint. Funny it's a 67. Be even funnier if it was made in July.
