That's a good point, and I've read that they can fail after a relatively short period. Even Dean says his updated ones last longer than his earlier productions, but the one I bought from him In December of '98 looks and feels like the day I received it, .....after I've wiped all of the oil and grime off of it. I know it sounds like BS, but I guess I'm just lucky.

The above 1970 1600 that was no sale at $30,000 on BaT is now on eBay for $44,900.

$44,900 seems like a crazy high number to me for a '70 1600.
Curious to hear if those more experienced than I feel the same way? Or am I the "crazy" one ;)
