Fabbed a trunk mat out of a Gray carpet from Home Depot. Thanks to my buddy Bob Haug for providing me the patterns to make the job a snap! Pat

One down, one to go on refurbishing the reverse lights. Yes, there were 2 on the '70 model year. :)

How did you replicate the GS sticker on there?

I used dry transfer "rub on" letters and lines to surround the "S". I found these sheets on line at:
http://woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics. ... lsGraphics
After applying them I gave them a quick shot of clear acrylic lacquer for durability. I suspect the original factory markings were made in white ink with a rubber stamp. The fonts and sizes aren't a perfect match, but they are very close. It's one of the little details I wanted to include.

Glad someone could use the info. Now you just have to be careful to not push it on when reaching for the center console release button.

I came home from a four week trip and found a dead battery. My little charger couldn't seem to bring it back to life. I opened the console looking for something and noticed the glow. Oops!

Thanks again. I actually used an LED bulb instead of an incandescent (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DNMX8 ... UTF8&psc=1). I wanted to reduce the current load on the original wiring and buy time to turn it off if I forget.

Should run for about 3 months before the battery is below 50%

I like the idea. I seem to accidentally hit the map light a lot. Thanks.
