Post by Guy »

dose the Exhaust pretzel bracket hold the pipe ridged or is it designed for movement?

There are small rubber isolator on each end of the strap (they provide the ability for the system to move...some). It would be pretty intense at cold idle with a non flex system. The vendors sell a flex pipe for the base of the headers/manifold to provide some additional flex.

In 2022 what is a source of the rubber isolators? I've searched Rock Auto and other auto parts stores with no luck.

Thanks, all, for the information. I ended up using the McMaster-Carr isolators because the Peugeot isolators seemed to be out of stock everywhere.

Mcmaster-Carr has high temp units, they come in several durometers, and are orange. I bought some, as have others, do a search here, and You should find them. Try this

I used these. I just added some washers to make up the height and cut the sides a bit. BOSAL 255-282 - MOUNT PEUGEOT

I also believe there was a heat shield, right angle bracket that fit over the mounting stud on the pipe side of the isolator to keep
It from drying out

I had some and I made some from some aluminum sheet. Stuff is thin so I just cut it with a box knife. Used 2 layers of header wrap to take the place of the stock insulation.

Here's the stock one. Insulator goes between the shield and strap.
