Script Fairlady emblem - Genuine Nissan not zinc reproduction

Post by fairladyproducts.com »

Up for sale is a Genuine Nissan script Fairlady emblem intended for the rear panel of a Datsun roadster. This is the real thing and the box pictured is the real thing. There was a vendor in the past selling reproduction script Fairlady emblems made from zinc and chrome plated. People said they were fugly and would not put them on their car and they wanted verification that mine were genuine from Nissan. So the word is beware of plated zinc parts that you can't see that are represented with pictures of factory parts made from a different material and packaging made for the different material.

The price is $160 for each emblem. If purchased in the quantity shown on the box then the box is included.

He’s out of business, isn’t he? Not listed on the vendor page.

So what cars were these actually used on? JDM? The cars here don't seem to have ever had these.

I believe that the part number with the last 5 of -14600 was assigned to the 1600 roadster as first use.

They were sold here through the Comp department (Nissan Motorsports) to Nissan dealers or individuals. Their mounting pin layout is the same as the DATSUN emblem used on the 67.5 to 1970 roadsters. They could only be used on the rear panel because of interference with the side molding.

I thought that on the earlier roadsters that that 'script' was OEM. But they were replaced upon arrival in US, because of the 'sissy' name.

That is correct for the 64 and 65 1500.
I remember when no one wanted the 1500s......

And correct for the JDM roadsters, and I think other markets (e.g Aus).
1965 Nissan Silvia (CSP311) for total restoration
1978 260Z finally on the road (Rebello 3.2L)
