2L Racecar Partout

Post by DMS »

Here is the deal, I have to go pick the car up Oct 25th.
I can ship smaller items nationwide, but big stuff will be limited to the West coast where ever Golden State Overnight delivers.

Location: Sacramento Ca 95826

1970 bare shell $1000
1967.5 SPL frame with Ca Title $1200
  • BRE style hardpan rod, double torque bars, set for 3" exhaust
1969 front fenders $300 ea
69-70 hood(has locking hood pins in it) $300
Trunk lid $80
Set of tail lights(powdercoated purple housings)$100
7/8" sway bar $150
H190 Center Comp LSD (either 4.6 or 4.37 ratio)$2500
Mid-close Ratio 5spd servo box rebuilt low miles upgraded 5th $2500
Late synchro style 5spd condition unknown $800
U20 short block complete('70) cylinder 1 froze up $500
Aftermarket oil cooler and remote filter setup $100
Front Calipers(pair) $200
Rear wheel cylinders(pair) $200
Ball joints all 4 $300
Steering Box $400
Idler Arm $350
Tie rods and center link $200
R16 header new $150
Custom Roll Bar(sits high and wide) $100
Sparco race seats
Fuel Cell $100
Gear reduction starter $150
Set of Carrillo Rods $1300

I'll try and add to the list if this is editable and I forgot anything. The car is half torn apart already, so it's not complete. I havent been on 311s.org in a decade or more, but social media is worthless for selling cool stuff unless you enjoy paying other people to take away your so called junk. I am reasonably negotiable. Have a good reason. I did my best to determine prices as per the rules.

I have a few pictures now, I dont know how to post them here. I can email them, message me for an email address.

Thanks

Welcome back, and good luck with the sale. Pictures must be 650 X 480 or less. Select Full editor, and at the bottom of the message window, there are two tabs: Options and Attachments. Select Attachments, and "Add files" this will bring up a pop up window to select your files. Add as many as you like. Make sure to hit submit when done!
"When all else fails, force prevails!" Ummm, we're gonna need a bigger hammer here.

Early or late steering box? If late, I will take it.

Who offered it for 5k?
I mean if you wanna screw a seller that's a quick way to do that.

If the seller paid $5,000 for the car he’s not going to get rich parting it out, and he’s going to earn any profit he sees.
He won’t get the price’s he’s asking on a lot of it, and will take a lot of time and effort to sell some of it.

Sad part is. It was more than 6k, and I haven't picked the car up yet.
And I'm doing it to help the Seller out so he can get his kids college paid off. I gotta make something to make it worth my time, and the prices I came up with are based on what i can find crossed with the guy who is selling it to me. So all the dude above is doing is trying to make that hard for the both of us, and I have the option to walk away. It might be easier to let him cough up all the money to buy the parts and gamble he can make anything on it. But if he knows the car, there is no other reason to stir the pot than jealousy. I'd feel bad, the guy selling it to me has been a fantastic resource to the roadster community for 40 plus years. He is completely fair and straight forward, and a pleasure to do business with and someone wants to come on and choke a deal out by making it hard to sell the parts, because they believe they can low ball into a greater than normal deal. That's not the case.
The only reason I posted here, was the mature attitude. Everyone knows someone has to make a buck somewhere. Most modern Social Media users believe if you paid x, then you should be selling it for less, because you never get what you put in. That's a terrible business model that I cannot afford to follow no matter how my heart pulls me.
I'll take what is fair, and I thought I was clear about that in the original post, hopefully.

Apologies - not meaning to burn you, but I saw it advertised and thought it was well worth a punt, for the LSD and CR gearbox alone, But from Australia it adds another $5k to get it here so not practical - I was also a probably a bit jealous too  , so my apologies again, but only because those parts are hard to find, especially at a reasonable price - I don't begrudge you making money, it's hard work breaking cars I'm just glad someone has the initiative to go get it, at least the parts will get sold on and be back in circulation GLWTS

I'm not a Newb to the site or Datsuns.
But sometime in the last decade 311s.org has changed some things and my old log in was erased/lost(same handle). Been here since around 2005.
