Not sure how many folks know or have met Victor Laury but he is a longtime Datsun enthusiast and an over all great guy. You can read Ron's poster for the rest of the information.

+1 for me.
Victor showed us all the example of the always giving, always helping, always welcoming generosity that sets "the Roadster crowd" apart. I hope to carry on even 1/10th of the self-less hospitality he showed us all.

His Z car also just finished an EBay listing with no takers, so will be relisted again I am guessing.
While the cars have had an idle period, they were always top-notch. The joy on his face when he told us he had "scored an OEM ashtray cover for the 521 truck" was priceless.
Besides being an A1 mechanic (chronicled for all of us the changing the timing chain on his U-20 while the engine was still in the car) , Victor also dove into "a mad polisher", and his cars exhibit countless hours spent.

Great guy, if ever anyone exemplified "the roadster spirit", it is Victor.

And a skilled driver as well...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va_WwlEvOaM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Newbie here, I never even heard of him - I'm in.

If he's been anything like the rest of you guys in terms of support and knowledge, I'd like to contribute.

Just FYI, I just spoke with Ron and let him know that the email address on the flyer isn't working.

All donations need to be check, cash, or money order. Please address the envelope to:

Victor Laury
7260 Canyon Crest Rd
Whittier, CA 90602

Make the checks out to Victor Laury also.

On a side not, Ron asked me (and I guess everyone else that donates also) to send him a PM with your name and address so that he can get you a receipt back. His handle on the forum is eastmedia.

I don't know Victor, but my sister just had a stroke also. I know how life changing it can be. I also have a blood clotting disorder, so I personally live with the fear of having a stroke.

My best wishes to Victor and his family. I know all strokes are different, but I hope he is able to recover.

Let's help him out guys. Worst case scenario is that you could have a 1 in 300 chance of getting a really nice Roadster. $100 will do a lot to help him out and tell your significant other that it's for a good cause.

Victor in his better days. Get well soon bud.

I don't know. I just know that my computer said that the AOL servers said the address didn't exist. The info above is still good though.

More about Victor: A true Datsun enthusiast, active on the other Roadster list before 311 existed. Victor was the first person to offer help to me by driving out to my house to help get my car going. He gave alot of encouragement even though he was aware of the many things that needed fixing. I figure Victor was directly responsible for the trust I magically got with the ball joint project because no one else had met me, just a few beginning posts online.
Thanks Victor, get well soon!

Hey,

Best wishes to Victor. Does he have a Paypal account? It is an easy way to send money.

Regarding Paypal.
Currently Cash, Checks, Money orders are being accepted. I will look into establishing a paypal account.

Also, I will be at Solvang with Victor's Roadster. Donations will be accepted there. The plan is for Victor to also be there, but that is tentative.

Victor's Roadster will also be at Motorsport Nationals in Orange County the following day.

More info to follow.

Victor was the 1st roadster owner that I met about 8 years ago when I bought my car. Over the years he has helped me install a top boot, adjusted my clutch slave etc. About 6 years ago we all went on a run up Angeles Crest Hwy to Mt. Wilson. On the way back down, Victor led the pack as usual. Some miles down the road, he had pulled over to the roadside, because his brake reservoir had boiled over. We all stood by while he did something to fix the problem. Then off he went. We caught up with him a few miles down the road, talking to the cops, as he had been pulled over for speeding. No one of sound mind would ever try to keep up with him! Victor refers to himself as a "wheel whore". I refer to him as one of the most giving, selfless people that I have ever met. It is sad to think that his passion for Datsuns and the help he gave to all his roadster friends will be limited at best. I can't think of a better thing that I could to with a $100 than to help Victor.

I second the PayPal for convenience. Donations are good there as they don't take their usual cut.
