UPDATE they are sold!
I am helping a friend sell his Solex setup. It has 1000 miles on it since being rebuilt by Palteck. It comes with the Carbs, intake manifold, air cleaner assembly that has been chromed and a B cam. He is looking to get $3500 out of it. Let me know if you want his contact information.

That's a deal. Don't understand chroming the air cleaner, but that's OK.

Not trying to be “that guy” however… I had a bad experience with Paltech and would not encourage anyone contemplating a rebuild to send it to that guy. He will make your carbs look like jewelry, no doubt. He will also charge you a small fortune to do the work. I had a pair of SU’s and Mikuni’s done by him (I’m a slow learner). He claims to “bench test” his work, but will send your carbs back to you in non-working condition. I experienced throttle shaft issues with both sets of carbs. Neither would idle correctly. Discovered that “rebuilt” to him means reusing the old shafts and butterfly’s. What a joke. Dave Premo talked me through (and provided the parts) rebuilding my “rebuilt” carbs so that they looked good AND actually worked. Z-therapy and Keith Williams are also a much better option than Paltech.

Well, that may explain the 1,000 miles since rebuilt

Actually he is selling the car but didn't want to give the setup away with the sale so he is putting the stock SU setup on it for the sale.

I’ve had the same experience with Paltech carbs . On more than one occasion we have dealt with SU carbs « rebuilt » by Paltech and found them to unusable. I hope this is not the case with these Solexes. Z therapy and Keith Williams are my only choice for SU carbs, Dave Premo for solex.
