shifter thread size

Would like to use custom milled shifter knob for '70 2000 5 speed, anybody know thread size as a reference?

If you are making it custom then the ONLY concern is will it pass through the triangular stops.

8x1.25 thread pitch I believe is what you are after.... the early cars (pre 67?) were SAE thread IIRC from what I have read.
70 1600 to 2000
