The 311 Skid Marks was formed for roadster car owners in the area north of San Francisco. The need for a localized roadster club was recognized as many roadster owners did not attend the other clubs events due to logistics. Although the 311 is a designation for the roadster all are welcome. 510s, Z's or what ever. There are no dues and no monthly meetings to attend. There is no formal organization and each member gets a chance at planning a run. We just want to get together monthly for a fun run and some car talk. The key is to enjoy our cars and the company of fellow datsun enthusiasts. We have a club logo which you can view here! Also if you are interested in joining us send an email to Steve and I will reply promptly.
We have held around 10 fun runs in the last year and a half and the turn out has been good. Everyone seems to really have a good time. If you would like to join us all you have to do is show up. Run details will be provided well in advance. With that said-we hope to see you some time soon!
If anyone feels the need to get together for a roadster cruise any time-email me and we can work something out. I am always ready to go!!
Here is a site that caters to motorcycling but these same roads are pefect for roadstering as well. We have done the Geyser's Run two year running. Click here to visit.
We held our inagural run to the coast in June. You can few pictures and read about the runs below:
Click here to view pictures from our June 18th, 2001 runWe held a mini-run/tech session on the 13th of October 2001. Tobin and I cruised over to Napa where we met up with Lou and Eric. Eric was doing some work on his 70 2 liter. He held a tech show and tell on disassembling a late model tachometer. His 67 1600 is experiencing some rear end problems so he was roadsterless. We spent several hours helping Eric and then decided to go up to the Red Hen in Yountville for lunch. Eric rode with me, Eric's mother-in-law rode with Lou and Tobin followed with Eric and Lou's wifes in the Toyota. We had a great lunch and some interesting conversation. Eric, Lou and wives/mother-in-law headed home to continue working on Eric's cars. Tobin and I headed up to Oakmount-took the Grade and headed home. That is one steep little hill I might add. Any way, I think everyone enjoyed themselves and look forward to doing it again.
