Mark Gill's 1970 2 liter. U20, SUs, with a 5 speed gear box. Exterior color white with a red interior. No roll bar but has both soft and hard tops. Car is a daily driver. Mark hails from Denton, Texas and is a member of TDROC.

Mark's comments "Original owner Capt. Mahoney of U.S. Air Force purchased this Roadster to U.S. specifications while stationed in Okinawa. Later this Roadster was flown over the Pacific Ocean to the U.S., when the Capt. was transferred back stateside. Capt. Mahoney was a meticulous owner and kept records of all maintenance, repairs, and gas purchases for the Datsun Roadster. After retirement Capt. Mahoney was confined to a wheelchair, but kept the Roadster, till his wife made him sell it around 1986.

The non-running car was purchased from the second owner in California after the car had been parked for around 14 years. After clearing a fuel pick up line in the fuel tank, the Roadster ran and drove like a champ. Now the car is a daily driver, making 80 mile daily commutes into Dallas in the spring and fall. The Roadster is stock and rust free and loves the daily honks and “thumbs up signs” that it receives on a regular basis. The Roadster 2000 is an excellent highway cruiser.

The Roadster really gets a lot of TLC when it visits Bankston Nissan in Lewisville, TX. The Roadster gets special treatment and is always parked Service Lane Area, where it receives many compliments and questions.
