The skid marks held a our second annual run to the geysers Saturday the 18th of October. We had six cars show up. Raul and Alvin came all the way from San Jose to run with us. Thanks guys-it was nice to have you with us. The group included Alan Duquette who planned the route, Raul, Alvin and his brother Clark, Steve Cherwon, Eric and his brother-in-law Rich and me. We had a ball driving the -hit out of our cars. We met up at the Rohnert Park Park 'N Ride at around 10:00 AM. We left around 10:45 AM and headed up to Santa Rosa. From there we followed highway 101 up to Healdsburg where we worked our way up to the geo-thermal plants located out in the middle of no where. What a great drive for a roadster! Lot's of twists and turns and some steep hills to climb as well as fly down. There was lots of squealing tires especally Raul with his skinny tires. As a matter of fact by the time we stopped right outside the gate to the plant you could smell clutch wafting through the air. We talked a bit about life and roadsters and then decided to head back the way of Cloverdale. I took over the lead and we caught some air once or twice as we power slid around some tight corners. We were having a great drive with many turns, single lanes and beautiful views until Alvin decided to tangle with a rock and his aluminum oil pan. Knocked a hole in it and lost all of his oil. I buzzed home picked up my trailer and went back to pick him up. Raul cruised back to San Jose to pick up his trailer as they did not want me to trailer the car all the way to San Jose. Any way, here are a few pictures of the run. Enjoy--we certainly did.
