The 311 Skid Marks held their third run as a club today. We had three cars this time. Mark Burchill brought a friend along in his '68 2 liter. More would be better but three works. A special thanks goes to Mike and Pauline Bell for coming all the way from Livermore to make the run with us. I(Steve Allen) set the details for this run. We met at the Sears Point raceway around 9 AM to watch some SCCA hot lapping. We hung out at the Dale Earnhardt terrace in turn 2 for awhile. The other participants had never been to an SCCA event so it was a treat for them. We walked around the facility and went through the paddock area checking out some of the race cars. We stopped in and checked out one of the shops. We left around 11:30 AM to head out to Petaluma for lunch. We stopped off at the Azteca Mexican resturaunt and had a very tasty lunch. After lunch we gassed up an headed out on the run taking Bodega Avenue towards the coast. Close to Tomales we headed south on Highway 1. There are lots of good twists and turns on Highway 1. We caught up with a CHP officer so we had to slow down a bit but it was still fun. Right past Point Reyes we took Sir Francis Drake and headed back inland towards San Rafael. Mark and his friend peeled off at Niccassio road and headed back towards Bodega where they were staying for the weekend. Mike and Pauline picked up 101 South to head home and I took 101 North. I did not get as many pictures taken as I would like to have leading the run but here are a couple of pictures of the run. Enjoy--we did!
