September 19 & 20
Auto X and Show 'n Shine Weekend
Vancouver BC
NOTE: This year’s event has been moved to the 3rd weekend of September, as it was previously clashing with another major event in the lower mainland since the show's inception in 1991. The weekends events are hosted by the 510 Club of BC, BC Z Registry, Vancouver Island Datsun Enthusiasts (VIDE) and the Northwest Nissans (NWN). The Burnaby-Coquitlam Motorsport Club (BCMA) will be supplying the equipment and expertise needed in organizing the Auto X with help from all clubs and participants. This year marks our 18th year with the show! Where did that time go!
So this year we are planning an Auto X on the Saturday to be held in Surrey at the same Translink parking lot we used two years ago at the Scott Rd. Skytrain Station, and the show will be held in the same location in North Vancouver at Waterfront Park where it’s been for many years now.
This year’s show will see some restructuring of the awards. This was necessary because the club had been making over 70 award plaques in past years, with an average of 20 plaques never being awarded. So it will be a bit new, but don’t worry – everyone will be included.
So we hope you can make it, and join us for either one or both days of the event. If you are coming from out of town, please book accommodation ahead of time. As both events start early in the morning, traffic isn’t too bad to get to the events from any direction. Accommodation in Burnaby or New Westminster would be central, however staying in North Vancouver or downtown Vancouver to enjoy some night life would not pose any travel concerns to either event.
To help with those coming from out of town, or for those who’ve not yet attended the event in the past, the physical addresses of both events are:
Saturday September 19th Auto X:
Scott Rd Park ‘n Ride 12515 llOth Ave., Surrey , BC
Sunday September 20th Show ‘n Shine
251 Esplanade W, North Vancouver BC
We hope you can join us. There will be a pre-registration set up soon. I will post this as soon as it’s ready to go. Costs to participate will also be posted at that time; of course spectators are always free. Both events are family affairs, and we will have food onsite at both events.
