My fuel pump, despite being completely rebuilt with new parts, never liked to prime itself. I have to disconnect the line at the front bowl and suck gas up through the pump and second fuel filter. Once they are filled again, everything works fine.mraitch wrote:Blew them out with bottled air - they seemed to still have spring in them. And weird that this would happen at same time - not a great believed in concidences.
BTW - I think I know, but for certainty - the valve that goes IN to the top is INPUT, whereas the valve that 'sticks' out is OUTPUT, or v.v. Hard to tell from the schematic, and of course I didn't think to take a picture. DUH
Thanks

On the 67.5 or the 69?
The 67.5 the hole is set up for the Throttle cable, I have no idea on a 69.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
Sorry. on the 69, I have a pic but am not able to attach it since i'm a forum newb. lol. In google image searches I haven't been able to find another with the hole. I was guessing a previous owner modification, but most aren't handy enough to make a clean rectangular hole and tack the nuts to the back. I'm trying to think of something to put in it, there are a lot of options for round block off plates but not for the rectangle

Attached is a picture of a 68-70 naked console.
Controls on right are (in no specific order - cos I can't remember)
Hazard
Choke
Brake Light Sensor
Heater
On the left are cutouts for radio knobs.
Cigarette lighter is on the console between the two seats.
Lights and windshield washer are on left side of dash pad
None of these have capture nuts -
Pix attachment is easy
Take piccture on phone then look below main text entry where is says 'choose file' - making sure your phone is attached - just scroll through windows to your device and locate image - typically DCIM/100 media - select file from device and 'open', when you return to 311 hit the 'add flle' button.

Based on the owner manual it looks like the handle for the ash tray cover.garoadsterfan wrote:Does anyone know what the rectangular punch out is for next to the cig lighter on my console? it has small captive nuts on the back side of it. any help would be appreciated!

No captured nuts on the ash tray cover. Screws go through the cover into the plastic handle. It's also not a cutout, it's just a raised boss with two holes.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
I'm finally installing a shifter plate, which requires me to properly secure the console. I need to know the type of fastener and thread for the sides of a low windshield console where it is held down to the transmission tunnel. Just a picture of what to look for would help too, I have a parts box with a bunch of odds and ends. My tunnel is currently carpeted over fully so I can't easily check. I'm assuming these are panhead screws with a washer.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
Apart from electric tape, are there any recommendations for replacing OEM wrap on the wiring??

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
DO NOT USE electrical tape!!! It's a gooey mess after a few short heat/cool cycles. There is a special non-adhesive wrap (looks just like electrical tape) that you use and finish off the end with electrical tape. I'll see if I can find my source, but I would think auto parts places MIGHT have it.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
I like to use the self-fusing tapes. Like you see on TV. My company carries a silicone based and a rubber based version. It is stretched and then wrapped with 50% overlap (like electrical tape) then it shrinks and fuses onto itself to become one piece forming a airtight/watertight seal. The rubber based has the appearance of factory wire harness and is not affected by hot-cold cycles. About $10 per roll. Pat
