Windshields

Post by SurfLlama »

Hi Folks..

My roadster seems to have a crack in the windshield, is there a place that sells reasonably priced replacements?

Alternatively, since this is a racer not really a street car, I'm thinking about fabbing a Lexan replacement (to save a little weight) anyone have any idea how to fabricate that? I figure I could use the windshield as a template and maybe form it with a plastic bender element.

Anyone tried such a thing?

If it is a racer and not a street car, why have a windshield at all? If you want to form one with lexan, talk to a local plastic shop. I believe that you can make one with a sheet of lexan and a heat gun. They would be the experts though.

Just a suggestion, I would have it cut oversized and then shape it. After the curve is right, then trim it down.

Lexan

The windshield sounds like a cool idea. I've been thinking about making some lexan door windows, but I have no $$ and I need to spend $$ else where on the car.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!
