Out of Paint JAIL! YEAH!!

So after a disagreement with a tire barrier at the Coronado Festival of Speed in late September last year, my Roadster has been released on probation with a beautiful new coat of red paint.
The car looks great! We will be getting her cleaned up, new rondals and numbers on the doors and hood, along with a little molding and few new bits of trim.
I won't make Solvang due to prior engagements, but will look forward to being on the track a little later this year.

Glad to hear it Ron. I hear the food sucks at those places and you only get out in the sun for like 15 minutes a day. Too nice a car not to be seen flogged around your local roadcourse.
On a separate note, are you the gent with the BRE Z replica? I have a 240Z I am putting into vintage racing clothes, hopefully in time for late season & the fall events therein.

So what kind of paint do racers use? "Swapping paint" is a racing thing isn't it?

Ha! Great comments! thanks all.
The NASCAR guys are the ones that swap paint (although these days all the NASCAR's are decal wraps).
We play nice, and you can get into big trouble with contact of any type in vintage racing...
Some say that vintage racing is not really a sport, but I will tell you that it is challenging to race clean and compete at that level. Maybe more difficult than if we did trade paint.
To answer a few questions, although I damaged only the front end (mostly the front drivers side of my car) a little more than 2/3's of it was completely repainted...This falls under the category of since we are there....
I must say I am really impressed, it has been a longer process than I expected but very well executed. I am excited to get the correct markings back on my car and get her ready to race again. We are going to make a few small changes with the new graphics, I am sure everyone will approve
We have all the parts, and will get started shortly after Solvang as I am sure Les is going crazy getting several cars done prior to the Solvang event.
As for the paint we suggest for race cars that swap paint:
HAMMERite spray paint!!

I still cringe at the video, I bet those tires didn't feel good at all.
Any chance of some new pictures?

Yeah, It hurt, I saw stars and it made a mess of the front of my roadster. A day later my left shoulder was sore and looking at the video in slow motion a set of tires hit my shoulder pushing my arm off the steering wheel. I really don't want to do that again any time soon.
However, I do think I was lucky. The accident could have been much, much worse.
I need some workspace to get my Roadster out of my trailer and start assembling the car.
Photos will be forthcomming. I promise.
