FYI,

The current owner contacted me and his ride will be car of the month for April. It is a Brithish Racing Green which is what I will have on my '65 SR20 conversion someday. Later than sooner. 8)

Ditto. I put a V8 into a Morris Minor and have done some other equally ridiculous swaps and came *this close* to buying that car when it was on ebay. I have been out of work for quite a while now, but I almost bought it anyway.

The owner's a nice fellow, and apparently the car needed some brake work and a few other things to get it roadworthy.

A have a neighbor with a Tiger, and I suspect the Datsun might make a better conversion since the Tiger is a subframe/unibody car.

FWIW, the Tiger is very nose heavy and the brakes are nearly non-existent! My neighbor has an Alpine along with the Tiger and I have helped him straighten the front sheet metal out on both cars. He says they are all like that because every one of them has run into the back of something because of the brakes :)

Here's food for thought...

Aluminum SBF block.

Cast iron 302 block is 160 lbs.
Aluminum 351 block 93lbs.

Funny no weight specified on the alluminum 302...

Minh,
I e-mailed Eric (the fellow with the V8 roadster) and he says he's stopping by the tuneup party tomorrow. That is right in my neighborhood, so I hope to see it tomorrow. I'm looking forward to taking a look at Andrew's fresh restoration, also.

Even though I don't yet own a roadster, somehow I don't think they'll mind a fellow enthusiast crashing the party for a little while.

I'll also make sure Eric gets the url here to the page. He seems like a very nice guy, and I know he's done some upgrading to the car since he's taken delivery of it.
