All are welcome to join in. Last year we tried to meet at Woodlake Bowl at 6am, which put us in town for the morning line-up just about the right time, given the "spirited pace"

and sparsely populated freeways at that time of the day.
There is a second pit stop somewhere around Thousand Oaks or so.
I'll fwd a cell # closer to the date,
Fergus O

Friday April 24th we will be meeting at the Woodlake Bowl for the Caravan to Solvang as well. This year we will be pushing to run on schedule, meet around 12-Noon and leave no later then 1:30pm (anyone that is later then this will have to catch up). There are groups meeting in Riverside, Orange and San Diego that will caravan to the Woodlake Bowl and join us in our trek North.
I will be posting more information on the Caravans in the next couple of weeks.
If you would like more information on one of these caravans contact

Chris,
I know that last year you guys took 101 up all the way. Any interest in going the back way this year? That road takes the 23 over Grimes Cyn., through Santa Paula and Ojai, behind Lake Casitas, and reconnects with the 101 just south of Carpinteria. Overall I'd say it was an additional 35 minutes, but well worth it for the scenery and the road.
I will be on a portion of that road this Thursday with the Targa California group so I'll let you know the condition when [if] I make it back.
Todd.

Todd,
don't forget, you can also go over San Marcos Pass (meaning get off at STate street and go right - away from the beach). this takes you up past Lake Cachuma, then an easy left turn along the hiway (246?) that becomes the main drag thru the center of Solvang. beautiful drive, and there is a nice little airport right near the junction that sometimes you can see gliders taking off and landing.
(and, you pass by the Indian casino, if you are into that)
Make sure you bring the mapbook / route of the Targa, and we'll compare notes. Take lotsa pics, sounds like a fun event.

Yeah Fergus, I do plan on taking the San Marcos pass, ( I think it is called the 154). It actually cuts a bit of time off and it runs past another lake. Taking the car up is gambling enough for me.
